Join BlackAndCamping for a weekend at Marsden Tract Group Campsite

Location - Potomac Maryland

Date - August 28th 1pm to August 30th 12pm

Cost - $20 per camper

The campsite is nestled in the woods between the Canal and the Potomac River and is a short distance from many recreational opportunities. Fishing, rock climbing, paddling, biking and hiking are but a few possibilities while staying at Marsden Tract. The campsite is located just 14 miles from Washington DC and is an ideal alternate lodging for those attending the March on Washington. To purchase your fishing license visit

The campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. Portable toilets are located between group campsite #1 and group campsite #2. Potable water is a short walk up the towpath and across the footbridge.

*************Parking - Bring a wagon or cart!!! There is an area close to the campsite to offload your equipment but parking is restricted in this area overnight. No vehicle traffic is allowed on the towpath and access to the campsites is by foot only. Overnight parking is allowed only at the Carderock Recreation Area or the gravel lots across from the Anglers Inn Restaurant. We recommend Carderock as it is slightly closer to walk the towpath to the campsite from there. Search "Billy Goat Trail C - North Parking Lot" on Google Maps for the best directions.
